What do you take home?

Put in your annual gross salary. You get income tax, Medicare, optional HELP, and net pay per week, fortnight, month, and year.

How the numbers work

Income tax uses the ATO's 2026–27 resident rates (income year from 1 July 2026): nil to $18,200, then 15c, 30c, 37c, and 45c in the dollar. Claiming the tax-free threshold is the default. If you turn it off — a second job, typically — the first $18,200 is taxed at 15c as well. Low income tax offset, Medicare levy surcharge, and other offsets are left out.

Medicare is 2% of taxable income, with the ATO low-income shade-in: nothing at or below $28,011, then 10c in the dollar until $35,013, then the full 2%. HELP, when switched on, uses the 2026–27 compulsory repayment thresholds — nil to $69,528, then 15c and 17c in the dollar, and 10% of repayment income from $186,051. Gross salary stands in for repayment income. A remaining balance, if you enter one, caps that year's repayment.

Net per week, fortnight, and month is the annual net divided by 52, 26, or 12. This is an estimate only — not tax advice and not the ATO withholding calculator. Everything runs in your browser. Your last set of numbers is remembered on this device and never leaves it.
